She holds a diploma in Nursing from Holy Name School of Nursing, Teaneck, New Jersey, a Bachelor of Arts degree in labor studies from Rutgers University, Newark, New Jersey, and a Juris Doctor degree from the City University of New York Law School at Queens College. Ms. Pietro is a partner in the firm, Wahrenberger & Pietro LLP, Spingfield, New Jersey, which specializes in medical malpractice and health care law. Ms. Pietro's concentration of practice is in representing nurses who are sued for malpractice, for professional actions before Boards of Nursing, and in employment, health care regulatory and practice matters.
Ms. Pietro is an Adjunct Professor at Felician College teaching in the nursing masters program. She has served as Adjunct Professor at Teachers College, Columbia University, School of Education, Department of Organization and Leadership, where she taught healthcare policy and healthcare ethics to doctoral nurse executive candidates. She has lectured and written extensively on litigation and healthcare related topics. Ms. Pietro is a member of the American Association of Nurse Attorneys, and is President of the New Jersey Chapter. She is a member of the New Jersey State Nurses Association. She has served as President of the Young Lawyers Division of the Essex County Bar Association and is a member of the New Jersey Bar Association and active in the Health Law Section. She is also the past Chair of the Essex County Bar Association Medical/Legal Committee. Most recently she served as a Commissioner on the New Jersey Governor Corzine's Commision on Rationalizing Health Care Resources.
Previously, Ms. Pietro was an associate with Kern, Augustine, Conroy & Schoppman, where she provided legal services to health care providers and has over a decade of experience in medical malpractice defense litigation.
